'SOS' (Part One) by Rob Hoegee |
Up in Thunderbird 5, John intercepts a distress call from the Calypso, a deep space exploratory vessel that has returned early from its mission and is now on a collision course with Earth. While Scott, Alan and Brains blast off in Thunderbird 3, Gordon receives a Global Emergency Alarm from Parker, who has lost Lady Penelope’s dog Sherbet; seeing a way to win Penelope’s favour, Gordon sneaks off in Thunderbird 1 to help locate the missing mutt – but he soon winds up getting into more trouble than he bargained for... Reaching the Calypso, Scott spacewalks across to the aged ship and gets aboard; after an encounter with the ship’s malfunctioning robot, Braman, Scott revives the crew from cryo-sleep an informs them of the situation. When the two scientists, Asher and Finn, refuse to abandon all the data they have amassed on their mission, Scott helps evacuate them and their data drive over to the safety of Thunderbird 3; unfortunately extra work causes the International Rescue team to run out of time to change the Calypso’s flight path – and it is now going to crash into a heavily populated city…
