Starfleet sends the <I>Enterprise</I> crew to assess the planet Viden’s request for a cultural exchange with the United Federation of Planets. However, not long after arriving on the planet, Captain Kirk, Mr Spock and Doctor McCoy find themselves held at gunpoint and forced to become unwilling participants in a television show. The head of the Trilateral Broadcasting Company, President Tinker, makes Kirk an offer he cannot refuse: create a new television show for the channel, or else everyone aboard the <I>Enterprise</I> will die…
