Star Trek The Next Generation Cast

The U.S.S. Enterprise comes to the assistance of respected Lumerian ambassador Ramid Ves Alkar, after his vessel, the Dorian, is attacked and badly damaged. Travelling to the Rekag-Cironi system to negotiate a dispute between the Seronians and the Rekags, Alkar beams aboard the Enterprise accompanied by his mother, Sev Maylor, a mean-spirited and ill-tempered old woman. Alkar and Counselor Troi quickly become friends, but when the ambassador asks Troi to use her empathic powers to help in the negotiations Maylor insults her, concerned that she is attracted to her son. Distressed, Troi seeks out Commander Riker for support, only to learn that Maylor has just died. Alkar asks Troi, as a fellow empath, to assist him in performing the customary Lumerian funeral meditation using special stones; however, at the end of the ritual, Alkar’s funeral stone begins glowing, and when he touches it against Troi's dormant one, the counsellor reacts in shock. Troi soon begins acting out of character: she attempts to seduce Alkar, but he refuses her advances; she then makes a pass at an ensign, and accuses Riker of jealousy. Arriving at Cironia, Captain Picard and Alkar begin working with two delegates, Jarth and Liva; despite worsening reports of fighting between the warring factions Alkar remains calm, and insists on attending the negotiations without the protection of an away team. When Troi joins them in Ten-Forward she shocks everyone with her appearance - she now looks several years older, and is dressed in an inappropriately provocative dress; Troi soon insults Jarth and Liva, prompting Riker to escort her to her quarters; here Troi tries to seduce him, but when Riker rebuffs her advances she scratches his face. The following day, Picard is stunned to find that Troi has become a dishevelled, white-haired old woman - can her crewmates find out who is responsible for her shocking transformation in time to save her..?
