Blessed with a planet with regenerative radiation, the peaceful Ba'ku have incredibly long life-spans, live in harmony with nature and reject any kind of technology. Their culture is studied in secrecy by both Starfleet and an alien race known as the Son'a. But when the Son'a, lead by Ru'afo, make plans to abduct the Ba'ku in order to take the planet for themselves, it is up to Captain Picard and the crew of the Enterprise-E to defend the planet's peace-loving population. However, when it is revealed that the Son’a have help from with forces within Starfleet itself, the very ideals upon which the Federation is founded are called into question...
