Quantum Leap Cast

14th April 1953: Sam leaps into Nick Allen, a Humphrey Bogart look-alike Private Detective who has just discovered the corpse of his dead partner, Phil Grimsley. Sam is arrested for murder, but soon cleared when it is found that the bullets of his gun do not match those of the murder weapon. With the help of a nerdy newspaper boy named Seymour, Sam begins an investigation to uncover the identity of the killer. With a mounting sense of déjà vu, Sam becomes involved with Phil’s gorgeous widow, a femme fatal named Allison, learns that the killer could be a mysterious ‘dropper’ named Clapper, and narrowly avoids two attempts on his life. He then finds out why everything is so familiar: Nick has been writing up these events as a pulp novel which Sam once read; the only problem is that the novel was never finished – because the next murder victim was Nick himself…
