Episode 4.6 by Matthew Parkhill |
At a stately home, preparations for a forthcoming wedding are underway. Going down to the cellar to get some wine, the event organiser is surprised to find a small, cute, dog-like creature in a box; but when the woman goes in for a closer look, she is attacked by the creature’s mother… Elsewhere, Matt pays a visit to his father, Gideon, in the nursing home; the man is close to death, and urges his son to capture Ethan to prevent the terrible future he has witnessed. Back at the A.R.C., Lester assigns Captain Becker the task of bringing in Ethan. At that moment the Anomaly Detector sounds, warning of the anomaly at the stately house; Abby, Connor and Matt rush to the scene taking Emily with them, unwilling to leave her under threat from Ethan. Following Jess’ directions, Connor, Abby and Matt race inside the huge house and into the cellar, where they swiftly deal with the creature, a male hyenadon. Checking for other such monsters, Connor is surprised to meet the bride-to-be: none other than Jenny Lewis! After a happy reunion with her friends, Jenny realises that their presence can only herald danger: she decides to keep their mission a secret from the wedding guests and her fiancé, Michae, explaining away the gun-bearing new arrivals as former colleagues from “the P.R. firm” she once worked for, who are on a paintballing team-bonding session. Back at the A.R.C., Becker and Jess’ research uncovers a report on Ethan that identifies him as a Russian anarchist who disappeared in 1902. Following a lead, Becker and his men trace Ethan to a warehouse overlooking Matt’s apartment, but when they arrive on the scene, they find the place deserted; deciding to maintain a watch on the building, Becker is soon joined by an over-eager Jess. Invited to the wedding, Connor, Abby, Matt and Emily enjoy Jenny’s hospitality, while remaining on the alert in case of another incursion. They are unaware that, elsewhere in the house, two more hyenadons are stalking the halls… Back at the stake-out, Becker suddenly sees Ethan enter the warehouse; racing after his quarry, Becker unwittingly walks into a tripwire – and finds himself holding the trigger mechanism to a very, very large bomb…
