Episode 4.2 by Steve Bailie |
Five years ago: investigating the sounds of a nocturnal intruder, a woman finds a tiny dinosaur in her living room; in disgust, she flushes the creature down her lavatory, but it survives its journey into the sewers…
Now: Following their debriefing, Abby is kept on at the A.R.C. to maintain the Menagerie while Connor is let go, not having the military background now required of all personnel. Seeing that Connor has nowhere to stay, Jess obligingly gives him the key to her home. While Abby is reunited with Rex, Matt makes another secret rendezvous with the mysterious Gideon. Checking out his new lodgings, Connor immediately hacks into Jess’ Mac; going online he quickly comes across a website run by his old university friend, Duncan, which is devoted to dinosaur sightings. Paying his mate a visit, Connor learns of another possible sighting, of a vicious beast terrorising the homeless community of an old warehouse down at the docks. Heading off to investigate, the duo soon find evidence of a fresh killing; Connor contacts Abby for help, but when she joins them they discover the mutilated body has gone: the creature has returned for its kill. Matt arrives on the scene, having followed Abby; in turn his absence has been noticed by Jess, who has informed Captain Becker. At that moment a team of workmen arrive to demolish the warehouse; ignoring Connor and Abby’s warnings the men set fire to the old building – disturbing the monster and drawing it out into the open. As the A.R.C. teams combine forces to ensnare the creature, the beast heads for a nearby container ship – and a deadly game of cat and mouse ensues…
