At a top secret Home Office facility, Christine Johnson oversees an operation on a captive Future Predator, and then receives news that the A.R.C. team have obtained the magnetite artefact. Meanwhile, at the Anomaly Research Centre, work is underway to repair the damage caused by Helen’s bomb. While Connor struggles to come to terms with Cutter’s death by burying himself in his work on the Anomaly Lock, Jenny finds herself temporarily put in charge of the team until Lester can find a replacement for the late professor. When the Anomaly Detector detects another new portal the team instantly mobilise – unaware that they are being followed by journalist Mick Harper, and a mysterious, black-clad motorcyclist. Arriving at the H.O. facility, Jenny, Connor and the others are met by Christine and an armed squad of soldiers led by an old colleague of Becker, Captain Wilder; forced to leave under duress, Jenny and the team are then shocked to discover that one of their vehicles has been broken into, and a portable anomaly device stolen… Meanwhile, at the offices of The Evening News, Mick shows the stolen device to his editor as proof of his dinosaur exposé; when the detector subsequently goes off the reporters immediately set off to find the source of the signal, accompanied by a camera crew and presenter. Jenny’s team also detect the new portal, but are delayed by Connor’s last-minute work on the Anomaly Lock; consequently, it is the Evening News crew who arrive first at the private airfield of Airgo Freight, where they are excited to find a massive portal shimmering in the air inside a hanger. However, everyone’s delight at seeing a cute baby Velociraptor quickly turns to terror – when a huge, terrifying Giganotosaurus stomps through the anomaly and tears through the news crew. When the A.R.C. team finally arrive they find the airfield in chaos, the Giganotosaurus now menacing the trapped crew of a nearby 747. As Jenny, Connor and Becker desperately try to lead the enormous predator back through the anomaly, they receive help from an unexpected source, as Danny Quinn arrives on the scene and takes charge of the situation in his own inimitable way…
