“All things will die by your hand” – the Emperor Dalek.

As the Doctor and Captain Jack set course for the Dalek fleet, the Daleks open fire. But the TARDIS is protected by the Slitheen’s Extrapolator device, and its force field prevents the time vessel from being destroyed by the missiles thrown at it. The Doctor lands the ship inside the Daleks’ control room, materialising the TARDIS around Rose and her Dalek captor; Jack then destroys the Dalek with the gun he created on the Game Station, providing the Doctor and Rose with a happy reunion. Protected by the Extrapolator’s force field, the Doctor steps out onto the bridge of the Dalek ship and demands to know how his enemies survived the Time War, the conflict that supposedly destroyed both the entire Dalek race and his own people, the Time Lords. He is answered by the Emperor Dalek, a massive mutated creature encased in a huge Dalek casing, which explains that it and its ship escaped the conflict, falling through time and space and then hiding long enough to regenerate itself; since then the Emperor has used humans beings to create its own progeny, transforming them into more Daleks while they have hidden in silence for the last hundred years, slowly manipulating mankind for their purposes. The Doctor realises that the ingestion of human DNA has caused the Emperor Dalek to become insane, and the creature now believes itself to be the Daleks’ god. Leaving in the TARDIS, the Doctor, Rose and Jack quickly arrive at the Game Station, where the Programmers and Lynda inform them that they have attempted to warn the station’s inhabitants of the Dalek threat, but that no-one has taken them seriously. Aboard its base ship, the Dalek Emperor oversees the invasion of Earth, intending to transform the world into a paradise. Having used the station’s transmitters to stop the Daleks from transmatting on board, the Doctor resolves to use the station to broadcast a delta wave that will destroy the brains of the approaching Daleks; however, he is not sure that he will be able to create the device in time. Jack decides to use the Extrapolator to reinforce the uppermost levels of the station, and, having kissed both Rose and the Doctor goodbye, he leaves to defend the lower levels from the Daleks and buy the Doctor some time. But the majority of the citizens of the Game Station refuse to listen to his claims that the Daleks have returned, and Jack can only rally a handful of people to help him. Having tricked Rose into entering the TARDIS, the Doctor dematerialises the time / space vessel by remote control; inside, to Rose’s dismay, a hologram of the Doctor tells her that the ship will take her back to her correct time and place, and then deactivate itself. Arriving on Earth, a distraught Rose is met by Mickey. Seeing the Doctor working on the delta wave, the Emperor Dalek taunts him, knowing full well that the device will not only destroy all the Daleks, but will kill every living thing around the station; as Jack listens on, the Doctor states that humanity will survive through its colonies, a sacrifice worth taking if it means the destruction of the Dalek race. The Doctor asks the Emperor to explain the phenomenon of “Bad Wolf”, but the Emperor replies that it is not responsible… Back on Earth in 2005, Jackie and Mickey take Rose to a fast food restaurant, but Rose cannot stop thinking about the Doctor, and she resolves to find a way to return to him. As Jack instructs Lynda to keep him apprised of the Daleks’ attack on the station the Dalek fleet arrives over Earth, and thousands of Daleks emerge from their ships and fly through space. While talking to Mickey, Rose discovers the words ‘Bad Wolf’ graffitied on the ground and walls all around her; she suddenly realises that they signify a connection between herself and the Doctor. Rose and Mickey attempt to open the TARDIS console in order to telepathically communicate with the sentient ship, but a chain tied to Mickey’s car is not enough to open it. Elsewhere, the Daleks break into the Game Station and override its defences, systematically killing all opposition they encounter. Jack attempts to use the Anne Droid as a defence, but it isn’t enough to stop the invaders, and soon all the citizens of the station are massacred by them. As the Dalek fleet begins its bombing of Earth, reducing the planet’s continents to radioactive rubble, the insane Emperor declares that it is creating Heaven on Earth. Refusing to listen to her mother’s insistence that she give up, Rose tells Jackie that she met her father before he died, and that he would have wanted her to keep trying to get the TARDIS to work; her words get through, and Jackie manages to find a recovery vehicle to use. After Mickey succeeds in using the vehicle to open the console, Rose communicates with the TARDIS’s heart, and the ship immediately dematerialises. Having killed Lynda, the Daleks pursue Jack, and promptly exterminate him when he runs out of ammunition. The Doctor completes his work on the delta wave, but he is too late – the Daleks have reached level 500, and they immediately surround him. Believing itself to be immortal, the Emperor Dalek wishes for the Doctor to become “the great destroyer” by using the delta wave to wipe out every living thing in the vicinity – including everyone on Earth. The Doctor is unable to bring himself to activate the device, but he is saved by the arrival of the TARDIS – and Rose, now glowing from the immense power of the time / space vortex energy that she has absorbed via the ship. The Daleks open fire, but their weaponry cannot touch Rose - who then announces that she is the Bad Wolf. It was Rose who was responsible for seeding the worlds ‘Bad Wolf’ throughout time and space, ensuring that they followed her own time-line as a self-perpetuating message to tell her to return to the Game Station, which is owned by the BADWOLF Corporation. Using her new, god-like powers, Rose removes the Daleks from space and time, negating their effect on the time-line and restoring Captain Jack back to life in the process. Realising that Rose’s powers are unstable and that they will quickly consume her, the Doctor works fast: he kisses her, drawing the time / space vortex energy into himself, which he then sends back into the TARDIS. The Doctor and Rose then leave in the TARDIS - but as Rose’s experiences cause her to suffer amnesia, the cells in the Doctor’s body begin to deteriorate, as the deadly vortex energies that were trapped inside him begin to take their toll. To stop himself from dying, the Doctor’s Time Lord body triggers its regeneration…
