The Doctor and Amy

Dressed in an evening suit and clutching a euphonium, the Doctor bids goodbye to river and then sneaks into the Console Room of the TARDIS, only to be stopped by Amy; caught out, he admits that while she and Rory are asleep in the TARDIS, he nips out every night to go on dates with River Song, and have adventures saving the universe (on this occasion, he helped a possessed orchestra in a moonbase). Amy tells the Doctor she is worried that her life doesn’t make sense any more, the result of the multiple alternate timelines created by their adventures. Reassuring her that people’s lives and memories get rewritten all the time, the Doctor uses the TARDIS’ systems to help Amy recall her saddest memory, when she was at the fairground and dropped her ice-cream. Realising that the woman who bought her a new ice-cream was actually her future self, Amy sees how the Doctor is now giving her a chance to include herself in her memories; as she heads off to buy the ice-cream, the Doctor tells her to get one for him too, and then asks to hold her hand on the ‘Ghost Train’…
