'Short Trips': 'Late Night Shopping' (1 Part) by Matt Fitton

While shopping in the supermarket, a hairdresser named Miriam meets the Doctor and Lucie, a strange couple who have been tracking a packet of tomatoes contaminated by alien parasites. After frying the infected fruit on a portable electric plate, the Doctor eats them, metabolises the infection and extrudes it into a lock of his hair. Miriam snips off the offending lock of hair just as they are approached by the supermarket manager and security guard, who insist the cooked goods are paid for. Interrupted by the arrival of a giant alien robot outside, asking for its tomatoes back, the Doctor and Lucie race into action…
