Learning that his long-lost father is on his deathbed in Jamaica, Hermes pays him a visit, accompanied by the Planet Express gang. Hermes is surprised to learn that his estranged pop is growing crops in the Blue Mountains, at Badrick's Coffee Estate; however, just as he berates his father for abandoning his family years ago, Hermes' pop passes away. As Hermes and the Professor are burying Badrick, they uncover an ancient alien spaceship fueled by coffee. Drinking some of the ancient brew, the duo experience a hallucination of the alien crew, who left their planet of Thermos to bring the gift of coffee to Earth five million years ago, to help humanity's development; unfortunately the ship's pilot suffered a hot coffee-crotch incident, and crashed the ship in the Jamaican mountains, killing all aboard, and preventing mankind from reaching its true potential. Hermes vows to complete the aliens' noble mission, and elects to leave his family so that he can rebuild the farm; he is helped by the Professor, who rebrands the company to 'Planet Espresso', and converts their headquarters into a coffee shop. The business is such a success that Mom offers Hermes a deal to make his special coffee available across the world; but when she reveals how this involves watering down the coffee, Hermes refuses. Back at the estate, Hermes finds a new coffee bush growing from his father's grave - a bush that looks and sounds just like his dead pop, and who brings Hermes a warning...
