While visiting the Wong family Ranch on Mars, the Planet Express gang take part in the Annual Running of the Buggalo event. Bender’s bug-avoiding moves impress commissioner Abner Doubledeal, who offers him the job of the new Buggalo matador, trained by the greatest matador alive: a beautiful robo-senorita named Marquita. The two robots fall in love at first sight, but Marquita insists they take it slow until after Bender’s first Buggalo fight. With some inadvertent help from Fry, Bender wins the contest. However, Bender feels guilt at slaying a Buggalo, sharing Amy’s feelings that the creatures are intelligent. That night, Bender leaves Marquita’s bed and visits the Buggalo barn, where he discovers that he can understand the creatures, who accept him into their herd. The next day, Marquita faces El Gande Buggalo in the ring - unaware that Bender has disguised himself as her opponent in an attempt to put an end to the savage tradition…
