'The Daleks' Master Plan' (12 Parts) Story Code 'V' by Terry Nation (1-5,7) and Dennis Spooner (6,8-12) |
The TARDIS lands on the jungle planet of Kembel in 4000AD, where the Doctor, Steven and Katarina meet Space Security Service Agent Brett Vyon, who has been sent by his superiors in search of Agent Marc Cory. They find Corey's tape, and learn of the Daleks' scheme, which involves the use of a weapon called the Time Destructor. They decide to warn the Earth authorities, but discover that the human leader Mavic Chen, Guardian of the Solar System, is a traitor in league with the Daleks. Chen has given the Daleks the Taranium Core, a vital component of the Time Destructor, but the Doctor manages to steal the Core, disrupting the Daleks' plans, and he and his companions are forced to flee in Chen's space ship. They are forced to land on Desperus, a prison planet, where a convict called Kirksen stows away, and holds Katarina as a hostage. Katarina opens the ship's airlock out into space, killing Kirksen and sacrificing herself to let the Doctor, Steven and Brett escape. Chen dispatches Space Security Agent Sara Kingdom to track down the Doctor and his friends. Sara is unaware of Chen's treachery, and kills Brett, who is her own brother, before she is convinced of the truth, and joins forces with the Doctor. They travel to the volcanic planet Tigrus, where they meet the Doctor's old adversary the Monk; arrive in ancient Egypt; and finally arrive back on Kembel. Here the Doctor attempts to steal the Time Destructor, and turns it against the Daleks, destroying them. Unfortunately Sara ignores his instructions to return to the TARDIS, and is also killed.
