Illyria’s plan has backfired, and she has lost her powers to Sevrin. With the Council regrouping / running away from the Siphon, Buffy seeks help from her friends, and hears from Xander that Dawn is now in a coma. Billy learns that Anahee has been protecting Buffy all along; regrouping with Dowling, they review CCTV footage of Buffy’s battle and identify a Slayer-Zompire hybrid – someone is deliberately turning Slayers… Buffy, Koh and Illyria join Xander at Dawn’s bedside, where Andrew has been unable to transfer the girl’s consciousness into a Buffybot. When Illyria observes that mystical energy is leaving Dawn’s body, Buffy and Xander realise this relates to her being the living embodiment of The Key. Furious that Dawn’s condition was caused by the destruction of magic, for which Buffy was responsible, Xander comes to blows with his friend…
