'Swell' by Steven S. DeKnight

Sent to Tokyo to assess Satsu’s performance, Kennedy arrives just in time to help her comrade deal with a rampaging, four-armed monster. After clashing over their respective relationships with Buffy, the two Slayers are surprised to find the demon’s sack contains what appears to be a cute, white vampire-cat doll. Unknown to the Slayers, their encounter with the monster was a ruse planned by Twilight – and that night, the doll comes alive, crawls into Satsu’s mouth and takes possession of her body. The following morning, Satsu attacks Kennedy, but in the ensuing fight she is hit in the stomach and coughs up the evil creature, which is swiftly despatched. Freed from the doll’s influence, a furious Satsu and her team investigate the manufacturer’s offices and learn that half a million of the malevolent toys are on a cargo ship bound for Scotland – their target being Buffy and her Slayers. Satsu and Kennedy set off to intercept the boat, only come face to face with a hoard the tiny creatures, the Swell, which combine into one gigantic, voracious monster...
