Buffy and her friends prepare for the final battle with Melaka Fray and his army of evil demons. With the help of Andrew’s high-tech comms gear, Giles maintains contact with Buffy and her army as they engage with the enemy. The conflict is brutal and bloody, with both sides suffering heavy casualties. Realising she has no choice but to fulfil the prophecy, sacrificing herself to banish their opponents, Buffy orders Willow to transfer the Slayers’ powers back into herself. But as Willow performs the ritual that will make Buffy the uber-Slayer once more, Melaka intervenes – taking the Slayers’ power for himself, Melaka cancels the foretold Reckoning and decides to give the demons dominion over Earth forever…
