'In Pieces on the Ground' (Part 4) by Christos Gage

Buffy falls out with Giles after he asks for a portal directly to the land of the Fae, believing it to be an excuse to be with his new girlfriend; confiding in Spike, Buffy falls out with him too when he thinks she is being unreasonable. Meanwhile, Xander finally breaks up with the ghost of ‘Anya’, to free them both of the lies they are living; unfortunately ‘Anya’ does not take the news well… Later on, Buffy receives a tip-off from D’Hoffryn, as he and the High Council repel an invasion from the Hell of Screams; the invaders’ portal was opened by the Mistress and the Soul Glutton, who are currently hiding in the Black Diamond Mines in Antioch. Buffy immediately assembles the Scoobies, and together they enter the caverns in search of the demons. The gang are soon ambushed by the Mistress and the Soul Glutton, who have used the Restless Door to open another portal, and a battle ensues. When Buffy and the gang manage gain the upper hand, the Soul Glutton destroys the Restless Door and escapes with the Mistress – leaving the Scoobies to deal with a hoard of bloodthirsty Anharran demons…
