'Angel and Faith': 'What You Want, Not What You Need' (Part 4) by Christos Gage

Nash has dropped the orb, and as it builds to critical mass its magical plague transforms everyone in the immediate vicinity into bizarre, otherworldly creations. While Angel takes on Whistler and Faith battles Pearl and Nash, Giles and Alisdair manage to locate the orb; working together they start to release its energy in a controlled fashion, but Nash intervenes and takes back the object. As the vampire carries the orb up into the sky, the mortally-wounded Nadira leaps after him and stabs him in the back – and with a final blow from Faith, the vampire is finally destroyed. But the battle is far from over, as Whistler has managed to retrieve the globe…
