'Angel and Faith': 'What You Want, Not What You Need' (Part 3) by Christos Gage

As Angel and Faith attempt to fight their way past Pearl and Nash, Whistler begins the magic spell that will kill a third of the world’s population. Meanwhile, Giles, Lavina, Sophronia and Soames race to the scene, bringing more weapons and magic to aid their friends’ fight. Faith is surprised when her former protégé Nadira joins the fight; however, the rogue Slayer’s efforts to help are in vain, and she is quickly taken down by Nash. Confronted by Angel, Whistler transforms into his true, demonic form, easily shrugging off his former friend’s blows; finishing his spell, Whistler passes the magic onto Nash – who then flies up into the sky, ready to cast the deadly spell onto the world…
