'Angel and Faith': 'Death and Consequences' (Part 3) by Christos Gage

With the fight turning in Eyghon’s favour, Angel holds off the demon while Faith, Nadira and the remaining Slayers make their retreat. Having regrouped, the team then seek the help of Alasdair Coames. After Angel reveals that Eyghon has the core of Giles’ soul within him, captured through the link forged when he and Ethan Rayne foolishly bound themselves to the demon to access his power, Coames advises that the only way to defeat Eyghon is to fight him with magical weapons. Eyghon has joined forces with Whistler, Pearl and Nash to obtain as many remaining magical objects as possible: the demon is trying to create a sort of plague from the energy stored in these items so that it can evolve mankind into magic-soaked zombies under his control, creating a Hell on Earth over which he will rule forever. Whilst Angel is immune to possession because of the demon inside him, he is concerned that the Slayers are still susceptible to control – so he calls in an old friend for help in the coming battle…
