'Scattered' Story Code: '201' by David Weddle and Bradley Thompson |
Faced with the prospect that she is a Cylon replica, a distraught Boomer has shot Commander Adama at point-blank range. Colonel Tigh is reluctantly forced to take command of the fleet, and while paramedics rush in to tend to Adama, he instructs guards to take Boomer to the brig. When an approaching Cylon Basestar is then detected, Tigh gives the order for the fleet to jump to emergency standby co-ordinates, despite the fact that Crashdown and his team are trapped on the surface of the planet Kobol and Doctor Cottle is still en route to the Galactica to tend to Adama’s serious wounds. But when the Galactica’s makes the jump the crew find themselves alone in space – it seems that due to a computer error the rest of the fleet has used a different set of escape co-ordinates… Meanwhile, Apollo has been placed under arrest and put in the cell next to the recently deposed President Roslin. In cyberspace, Baltar and Number 6 discuss their imminent ‘parenthood’ over Sharon the Cylon’s baby girl; Baltar then comes to on Kobol, with the rest of the injured survivors of Raptor 1; together they set off to find a way off the planet, only to come under fire from unknown snipers. At the museum on Caprica, Starbuck pulls a gun on Sharon the Cylon, but is stopped by Helo, the father of the replica’s baby; in the confusion, ‘Sharon’ escapes in Starbuck’s captured Cylon raider, stranding the two Colonial warriors. Having instructed a medic to operate on Adama, Colonel Tigh interrogates Boomer, and only just manages to stop himself being goaded into killing her. Tigh them decides to put Lieutenant Gaeta’s dangerous plan into operation: by networking the Galactica’s systems together they can speed up the process of plotting the correct co-ordinates needed to rejoin the fleet; but when the Galactica jumps back to its previous position to begin the process, it immediately comes face-to-face with the Cylon Basestar and hundreds of attacking raiders…
