'Sacrifice' Story Code: '216' by Anne Cofell Saunders

When rumours that the Galactica is harbouring a Cylon agent are somehow leaked to the press, the fleet erupts into fear and paranoia. Sesha Abinell, a civilian who lost her husband, Ray, in a Cylon raid several weeks earlier, refuses to believe that Boomer could be of strategic importance to Adama, and is instead convinced that the Cylon is manipulating the Admiral into leading the fleet to its destruction. Deciding to take matters into her own hands, Sesha and three other such sympathisers board the luxury ship Cloud 9 and take over its luxury bar by force. Amongst the innocent revellers held hostage are Apollo, Dualla and Billy – awkwardly caught in a romantic triangle after Dee turned down Billy’s proposal of marriage – and Ellen Tigh. Apollo manages to reach the safety of the bathroom, where he attempts to undermine the terrorists by triggering mechanical malfunctions; meanwhile, Sesha makes her demands known to Adama and President Roslin: either the Admiral turn over Boomer to her, or, in two hours, she and her comrades will kill every one of their hostages…
