'Rapture' Story Code: '312' by Bradley Thompson and David Weddle |
With the Cylon ships approaching the planet below, Admiral Adama prepares to order a nuclear strike that will destroy the Temple of Fire. Aboard the baseship, the Cylon council agree to pull back their ships – all except D'Anna, who defies her peers and sends a single vessel containing another of her selves and Brother Cavil down to the surface. His bluff called, Adama allows the Cylon ship through. On the planet, Anders and Apollo lock horns over sending a rescue mission after Starbuck, whose Raptor has been shot down by Cylons; Apollo refuses to jeopardise their mission by allowing Anders to search for his wife; instead he sends his own wife, Dee, who is clearly unhappy at her new orders. Having learnt that their child, Hera, is still alive, Helo and Athena plan to rescue her from the nearby baseship; at Athena’s insistence, Hero shoots his lover point-blank, allowing her to download and resurrect aboard the Cylon ship. When Helo informs Adama and Roslin of his and Athena’s plan, they voice concern over a possible breach of security, but accept that they are partly to blame for the situation. Awakening aboard the baseship, Athena is greeted by Caprica 6; she demands to see her daughter, only to learn that the child has become ill. Meanwhile, on the algae planet, Apollo, Anders and their troops encounter a Cylon recon squad…
