Now that over a third of the fleet has chosen to follow President Roslin to Kobol, morale is down, loyalties are at question and families have been torn apart. On the Astral Queen, Roslin attempts to address the concerns of her fellow separatists, promising that she will fulfil their destiny to save humanity by leading them to Earth as foretold in the prophecies. When an unknown craft is detected approaching the Astral Queen, Zarek insists that it be shot down; however, Roslin is overjoyed to learn that the craft is piloted by Starbuck, returning with the legendary Arrow of Apollo. When Starbuck and Helo are reunited with their friends, Apollo’s happiness quickly turns to anger when he learns that Boomer has also returned; he immediately pulls a gun on the Cylon agent, but in turn Helo turns his weapon on him, causing a tense stand off that is only broken by a command from Roslin. The deposed president then orders that Boomer be thrown out an airlock, but Boomer manages to save herself by revealing that she knows the path to the Tomb of Athena, which contains the secret to finding Earth. On the Galactica, Adama promotes Lieutenant Birch to Captain to replace his son; however, it soon becomes apparent that he has made a bad choice when Kat is almost killed during a Viper training exercise conducted by Birch, who also cause a simple refuelling mission to go badly wrong. Meanwhile, Baltar’s paranoia has increased since he learnt from Boomer that there are eight Cylon agents in the fleet; Baltar does not know their identities, and Number 6 is now revelling in his unease. Despite the possibility that Boomer could be leading them into a Cylon trap, Roslin decides to take Apollo, Starbuck and a team down to the surface of Kobol to search for the Tomb – but not long after they land they run straight into a Cylon ambush…
