'The Eye of Jupiter' Story Code: '311' by Mark Verheiden |
Admiral Adama sends a team down to the algae planet on a supply mission. Meanwhile, Starbuck and Apollo’s involvement is affecting both their marriages, and tensions flare between them and their respective partners, Anders and Dee. Aboard the Cylon baseship, Baltar dreams of the human-Cylon baby, Hera, who has become ill, and of the identities of the remaining five Cylon replicants. Down on the planet, Tyrol feels a compulsion to leave his crewmates and head for a rocky outcrop in the mountains; inside a cave he finds a man-made cavern, containing a towering, ancient artefact surrounded by a series of control panels. Tyrol immediately reports his find to Adama and President Roslin, who realise that he has discovered the Temple of Fire, a four thousand year old temple that is said to contain the Eye of Jupiter – a marker to the planet Earth. Their excitement at such an important find is interrupted when a Cylon baseship jumps into the vicinity, which broadcasts a request to speak to Adama; Baltar’s voice comes over the communicator, asking for permission to allow a party of Cylon representatives to come aboard the Galactica for a conference to discuss the temple on the planet below…
