'Deadlock' Story Code: '416' by Jane Espenson |
While Chief Tyrol oversees repairs to the Galactica’s infrastructure using Cylon bio-resin, Admiral Adama struggles to come to terms with this compromise to his ship. A lost raptor returns to the fleet, bringing with it Boomer and – to everyone’s surprise – Ellen Tigh. Ellen and Saul enjoy a passionate reunion, but the Colonel neglects to mention his relationship with Caprica 6, and the baby, Liam, that they are both expecting – the child believed to be the future of the entire Cylon race. Baltar returns to his cult of followers, only to learn that they have moved on without him and now have a new leader, Paula. Ellen is overjoyed to be reunited with the Final Five, as they gather around Anders’ bedside in sickbay; however, when Number 6 proposes abandoning the Fleet and leaving in the baseship along with the pregnant Caprica 6, Ellen is shocked and heartbroken to learn of what she sees as her husband’s betrayal. The decision to leave is put to the vote, and the casting decision rests with Ellen. Torn with conflicting emotions, Ellen confronts Caprica 6 and tries to drive a wedge between her and Saul, and when she finally makes her choice and votes to leave in the baseship, the decision shocks Caprica, who immediately collapses in pain, the life of her baby hanging in the balance…
