'Angel': 'Out of the Past' (Part 4) by Corrinna Bechko

Angel’s words against killing and regret finally get through to Illyria: together they take on her past self’s adversary, and Ilyria chooses to allow the demonic creature to flee instead of slaying it. Now seeing the error of her earlier actions, Ilyria approaches her past self; the creature is busy making the mountain explode, but Illyria manages to talk it out of committing mass murder. The two Illyrias merge bodies and turn their powers on the mountain, halting the imminent explosion just in time; however, the strain is too much for the elder Illyria, and she retreats deep into Fred’s body to recover. The younger Illyria sends her future ‘cage’ and Angel into the time-stream – but who knows where they will end up next…
