'Angel': 'Out of the Past' (Part 1) by Corrinna Bechko |
Angel is once again plagued by visions of his violent, bloody past, which now also include a strange, carnivorous plant. While on a visit to Dublin, Ireland, to perform an exorcism, Angel and Fred subdue a poltergeist haunting a hotel, albeit with a little help from Illyria. The demon then warns Angel of something he did in his past, and teleports him to the street outside to show him a flower growing from a crack in the pavement – the same plant as in Angel’s vision. When Fred reverts to herself and suggests that they find a way to view the past, Angel is reminded of an old scrying glass secreted beneath a church; together they retrieve the artefact from its hiding place in the cellar, and return to the hotel to contact Giles’ aunts for advice on its use. But then the poltergeist manifests again – and during its attack Illyria takes over Fred’s body and activates the scrying glass…
