War of the Worlds Cast

"This is Harrison Blackwood. These may be the last words I speak on this earth."

When one of the Advocates becomes infected with chicken pox, the alien Triumvirate is compromised; as the remaining two Advocates begin to lose their mental faculties, becoming increasingly indecisive, they turn to their scientists for a cure. In desperation, the aliens ransack a morgue and steal the brains from several dozen human cadavers, which they then attempt to use to revitalise their stricken leader; however, the equipment controlling the process explodes, forcing the Advocates to take alternate action. They take over fresh human bodies and then set off for a power station, collecting more brains from the unwitting victims they encounter en route. Elsewhere, at the Blackwood project, Norton is confused by a change in the aliens’ transmissions: the signals were once precise and predictable, but recently become totally random, before going completely silent. Harrison is immediately intrigued, and his curiosity increases when he learns that Sylvia Van Buren’s mental condition has inexplicably improved. Harrison and Ironhorse pay the Whitewood mental asylum a visit, where a now-lucid Sylvia tells them that she can no longer detect the aliens’ presence; the news pleases Ironhorse – until he and Harrison learn of the break-in at the morgue, and realise that the aliens are still active…
