The Tracy boys learn that a huge Leonid meteor shower is about to hit ‘Shadow Alpha One’, their father’s old base on the dark side of the Moon. Scott and Alan set off in <I>Thunderbird 3</I> to rescue the base’s sole occupant, Captain Taylor, best friend of John Tracy, and one of the team who originally set up the <I>International Rescue</I> operation. As <I>Thunderbird 3</I> approaches the moonbase Scott takes a jet-pack and jumps down to the surface, leaving Alan to take the spaceship out of the impact zone. After a bumpy landing, Scott ventures inside and meets Captain Taylor, who is busy repairing the aging systems of the decommissioned base. With the first wave of meteors now in sight, Captain Taylor activates the orbiting Debris Defence Module, and together he and Scott shoot down the Leonids. Another wave of meteors is swiftly dealt with – but then the weapons system suffers a power failure, leaving the base defenceless. As the Leonids begin smashing into ‘Shadow Alpha One’ Captain Taylor and Scott escape the destruction in the moon rover; but as they race to make their rendezvous with <I>Thunderbird 3</I> the moon rover falls into a steep crater, trapping them as more meteors begin to strike…
