'Gone Away' by Terry Nation

After Greg, Jenny and Abby set up camp in a church, they decide to collect provisions from a nearby supermarket. However, Arthur Wormely’s men have laid claim to the store; Wormley’s assistant, Dave Long, and his two associates arrive and confront the trio, branding them as looters. Greg, Jenny and Abby manage to outwit the men, disabling their jeep and making off with a supply of provisions. But upon arriving back at the church, they discover that their storehouse has been broken into by the selfish Welsh labourer Tom Price, who has helped himself to a free feast. When the three of them confront him, Price tells them that he recently met a sick man and a young boy; Abby immediately clings to the hope that it could have been her son Peter, and is all for rushing off to find him. Meanwhile, Dave Long, and his men are not far behind, and planning to exact their revenge on Abby and her friends…
