Little John’s visits to see his lover Meg in the village of Wickham are noted by the Sheriff of Nottingham. Meanwhile, the outlaws encounter Alan a Dale, a minstrel who has come to Sherwood in order to kill the Sheriff of Nottingham. Alan tells them that the object of his affections, Mildred, the sixteen-year-old daughter of the Baron de Bracy, is being forced against her will to marry the Sheriff, who will also receive a dowry of 10,000 silver marks. Seeing an opportunity Robin decides to help the young lovers…
