When an observation rocket is sent into space, it suffers a malfunction and veers off course, losing contact with Professor Bernard Quatermass of the British Experimental Rocket Group. When the rocket eventually returns and crash-lands in London, only one member of the three man crew emerges from the capsule. Quatermass learns that the survivor is much more than human, and soon a deadly threat to the whole of humanity is unleashed upon the world…
