Prisoner Logo 'The General'

Number 6

The Village becomes the testing-ground for ‘Speedlearn’, a new technique developed by the Professor; this revolutionary procedure uses special subliminal signals transmitted via television to imprint the viewer’s mind with a degree-level course in just fifteen minutes. But the Professor is less than willing, and he makes an unsuccessful attempt at escaping. Number 6 is concerned with the apparent brain-washing, and finds an unlikely ally in Number 12, Number 2’s head of administration. He plans to meet the General, the computer that controls ‘Speedlearn’, as he has a particular question that he wants to ask it…

Patrick McGoohan (Number 6), Angelo Muscat (The Butler), Colin Gordon (Number Two), John Castle (Number 12), Betty McDowall (Professor's Wife), Peter Swanwick (Supervisor), Conrad Phillips (Doctor), Michael Miller (Man in Buggy), Keith Pyott (Waiter), Ian Fleming (Man at Cafe), Normal Mitchell (Mechanic), Peter Bourne (Projection Operator), George Leech (Guard), Jackie Cooper (Guard)
