Number 6

A new Number 2 arrives at the Village, and decides to get the community involved in an Art and Craft fair. He asks Number 6 to join in with the spirit of the Village, and is pleasantly surprised when the agent agrees to take part. Number 6 then meets the newly arrived Number 8, a beautiful Russian agent named Nadia, who also resigned from her job, and who claims to know the location of the Village. Number 8 stages an unsuccessful escape attempt by swimming out to see, but Rover captures her. She and Number 6 then join forces, and devise an alternate plan of escape. Number 6’s entry in the craft fair appears to be an abstract sculpture, but is in fact another type of craft: a boat. He and Number 8 leave under cover of darkness, and after a long journey, they eventually arrive in London - or do they..?

Notes:
*Featuring Number 6
*An early rough-cut of this episode was accidentally released for transmission; this print was later released on video as the ‘alternative Chimes of Big Ben’. There are many minor differences between the two versions, the most notable involve Number 6’s attempt to discover the geographical position of the Village using a homemade navigational device, and some differences in the opening titles and closing credits
