Planet of the Apes Cast

Burke is captured by gorillas and taken to Central City, where Doctor Zaius and a chimpanzee scientist named Wanda are discussing a new interrogation technique called ‘brainwashing’, which they have found in an ancient, human book. Despite objections by Urko, who prefers to use physical violence instead of mental conditioning, Wanda takes Burke to a secret location and begins the experiment. Meanwhile, Virdon and Galen sneak into the city and take refuge with Galen’s parents; they break into the prison, only to learn that Burke is no longer there. Burke is subjected to sleep deprivation and starvation, but manages to resist the initial level of brainwashing; Wanda resorts to drastic measures, and forces her prisoner to relive his past so that she can gain his trust. As Virdon and Galen desperately try to find their friend, Wanda realises that her experiment is proving a failure - leaving her little option but to hand Burke over to Urko, so that the astronaut can be rendered docile with a brain operation…
