'Jim Henson's Muppet Babies' |
Muppet Babies, we make our dreams come true!
‘Muppet Babies’ featured the animated adventures of pint-sized versions of Kermit, Fozzie, Piggy, Gonzo and the rest of the gang. Each week, the babies used their over-active imaginations to take them outside the confines of their playroom, taking part in stories based on well-known movies, shows, plays and novels. The show also featured clips from the various movies, etc., being spoofed, often with the animated Muppets interacting with the characters.
Muppet Babies, we'll do the same for you!
The show quickly proved a massive hit with audiences, and it was later extended to an hour to accomodate another cartoon series, 'Little Muppet Monsters'; however, only two episodes of the show aired on CBS in 1985 under the title, 'Muppets, Babies, and Monsters', and the 'Little Muppet Monsters' segment was replaced with another episode of 'Muppet Babies' shown back-to-back. Then in 1987, new episodes were shown with repeats of previous 'Muppet Babies episodes'. In total the show ran for one-hundred-and-seven episodes over seven seasons.
Frank Welker (Kermit / Beaker / Skeeter [1986-1992]), Greg Berg (Fozzie, Scooter), Laurie O'Brien (Piggy), Howie Mandel (Animal / Bunsen / Skeeter [1984-1986]), Katie Leigh (Rowlf), Barbara Billingsley (Nanny), Russi Taylor (Gonzo, Robin), Dave Coulier (Uncle Waldorf)
