'Nightmare' by John Kneubuhl

David Vincent journeys to the small farming community of Grady to interview schoolteacher Ellen Woods, who recently reported being attacked by a swarm of locusts. Arriving in Grady, Vincent receives a hostile welcome from the townsfolk, and when he meets the school principle, Oliver Ames, he is told that Ellen's sighting is nothing more than the ravings of a deranged mind, due to her history of mental instability. However, Vincent soon uncovers some terrifying evidence which indicates that the invaders are turning insects into carnivores, and are now able to control them for their own ends...
