The Goodies

Taking a wrong turn en route to their holiday in Skegness, the Goodies get caught up in the ‘Tour de France’ and end up winning the cycling race. Spotting an easy way to make money, Graeme suggests entering more races, starting with ‘Le Mans’; Tim readily agrees, mainly so that he can personally teach all the cocky foreigners that Britain is best. However, the Goodies face two problems: Tim can’t drive, and they don’t have a car. After a quick driving lesson from Graeme with the aid of a plate, a shaving mirror, some chairs and Bill’s feet, Tim manages to pass his test. Once Graeme has built a custom race car out of scrap parts, the trio prepare to enter the race, only to discover that their main opponent is the Baron de Boeuf, an infamously dastardly cad who will stop at nothing to win. When the Baron sabotages the Goodies’ car during a practice run, Graeme retaliates by converting their disused railway station office into a car. The race begins and a gruelling battle ensues, until the cheating Baron gets his come-uppance and crashes; the Goodies cross the finish line and win – and then their office goes out of control…
