'Lips, or Almighty Cod' by Graeme Garden and Bill Oddie

The Eskimos extend their fishing limits by two-thousand miles – which takes them right across London. Britain’s cod supplies immediately start to dwindle, and Tim is stopped fishing in the Serpentine by an armed Eskimo police launch. Taking action, Graeme sets up ‘Dr. Garden’s Fish Farm’ to raise dairy cod, plaice, sole and various other types of fish, and then declares a ‘Cod War’ on the Eskimos. Graeme, Bill and Tim take on the Eskimos and bombard them with fish – but that is exactly what the invaders want, and they leave in triumph with their catch. The Goodies retaliate by sneaking into North Pole territory disguised as members of the M.C.C., stealing a cod and smuggling it back to England as a new type of cricket bat. As the nation celebrates the trio’s success, Graeme takes the cod back to his farm and proceeds to feed it. It isn’t long before the fish has grown to over twenty-two feet long – and is then unleashed upon the invading Eskimos…
