The Ghosts of Motley Hall Cast

After Matt reports recently seeing Mr. Gudgin and a policeman on the roof of Motley Hall, the ghosts wonder what is going on. As the only one who can leave the house Matt is sent outside to investigate, where he finds Gudgin and a builder surveying the roof; it seems that thieves have stolen all the lead, and the repairs will cost £2,000. When Matt reports back to Sir George and the others the ghosts fear that if Gudgin is unable to afford the bill, then the building will fall into disrepair - it looks like the end of Motley is at hand. The ghosts resolve to help, and decide to try and find a way to raise the money; the best place to look is in the cellar - the only place Gudgin hasn’t searched because he is afraid it is haunted - but unfortunately, all it contains is junk and bric-a-brac. However, when Matt removes an old bust of Sir Peveril Uproar, a former owner of Motley, an unearthly moaning is suddenly heard. Bodkin realises that they have disturbed the ghost of ‘The Miser of Motley’, who, according to legend, hid his hoard of treasure somewhere on the grounds. The ghosts realise that if they can find the treasure, then Motley will be saved…
