SPOILER ALERT: ROBOTS AND WHATNOT

When Leela manifests suckers on her arms her doctor diagnoses that she has ‘squidification’, an incurable genetic condition that will eventually turn her into a mass of tentacles. Learning that there is an operation that can delay her illness, the Professor entrusts Fry with selling Bessie the Planet Express spaceship to get the necessary funds. Fry goes to the spaceship market, but ends up trading Bessie for two large ‘magic’ beans that supposedly cure all ills. When the professor finds out he is furious, and throws the seeds out of the window; that night, the beans sprout into a giant beanstalk that reaches up into the sky… Leela decides to leave her friends and return to the sewers to live with her mutant parents; but on seeing the beanstalk she changes her mind and climbs it up into the clouds. Here she finds a fairy tale castle – and then gets captured by Mom’s minions. The castle is in fact ‘Momsanto’, Mom’s secret floating genetic experimentation facility where she is splicing animal and vegetable genes to create strange new types of food that she can sell for lots of money. Seeing her prisoner’s tentacles, Mom declares that she wants Leela’s genes for her bizarre experiments…
