Haiti: in the Kimberly hotel, Nemesis scientist Ralph Carters is found frightened to death, his hair bleached white from fear. Before he died he managed to get a message to Tremayne, who then sends Sharron to investigate. The hotel is the location for a large gathering of politicians and scientists; Sharron discovers that many of the guests are superstitiously afraid of a voodoo illusionist called Dwumbala. But when Craig and Richard arrive to join her, they find that Sharron is apparently in a trance, and has revealed the secret of her extraordinary powers to the magician...
