Now depowered and free from the internment camp, Buffy and Willow stay with Xander and Dawn; but their freedom is not absolute, as government drones hover in the sky overhead, watching their every move… As she works on a plan to rescue Spike, Buffy tries to settle into a quiet, normal life; but while out for a jog, the ex-Slayer is forced into saving an ex-Wiccan from an attacking thug; although she wins the fight, Buffy herself is badly beaten, and is shocked at the level of violence she has just meted out. Returning home, Buffy and the gang receive a visit from Riley and his wife, Sam; after instructing Dawn to leave the country to escape the government’s depowering machine, they talk Buffy into freeing Spike, calling in an old friend for help: Faith. Using their credentials Riley and Sam get Buffy, Faith and Willow into the internment camp, which promptly loses its security systems thanks to Willow’s computer skills. While the Rileys lead the guards a merry chase, Buffy, Willow and Faith head for the depowering machine – only to come up against a team of Slayer-guards…
