Several scientists that were once part of a broadcast power research team called ‘Project 90’ are found dead, embedded in walls or other objects, and documents inside sealed safes are found burned. Steed and Mrs. Peel are called in and investigate the activities at the Risely Dale research centre. After both Steed and Mrs. Peel encounter a small blue van and a man in strange, greasy make-up, they discover that the remaining member of the team, Doctor Creswell, is the man responsible for the deaths. Creswell’s accomplice, Haworth, is able to carry a huge electrical charge while remaining unharmed thanks to a special insulating compound that covers him. When Cresswell sends Hayworth to capture Mrs. Peel, she ends up covered in silver -foil and charged with 25,000 volts. Unaware, Steed comes to rescue her, but if he should touch her, he will experience a truly shocking experience…
