For the last month, Steed has been unsuccessful in his attempts to uncover what he suspects is an ambergris smuggling operation at Pancho Driver's gym. But when Mrs. Gale's young judo student, Joey, turns out to be an amateur boxer looking to turn pro, Steed sees an opportunity to further his investigations. He agrees to sponsor Joey, as a means of breaking into the business; but Joey soon stumbles unwittingly on to some smuggled ambergris and is captured and locked up by the villains...
