Wrightson, Steed's former batman, dies, and at the reading of the will he leaves his wife £180,000, despite only having had a £20 a week salary. Steed and Mrs. Gale investigate the man's estate to determine if the money was obtained legally, but evidence eventually points to a banker who is on a mission to bolster the country's high-tech companies, and is buying stocks based on insider information in order to achieve his goal…
