'The Secret of Bigfoot' (Part 2) (Story Code '43028') by Kenneth Johnson

Steve befriends Shalon and her fellow alien explorers, and learns that they are conducting tests in their underground laboratory within the cave system. Shalon also reveals that the Bigfoot creature is an android experiment of their creation, which they have used to keep unwanted visitors away. Meanwhile, on the surface, Oscar becomes concerned when the earthquake warning sensors report that a major disaster is about to take place. The only way to prevent the 'quake is to detonate a nuclear device to relieve the pressure in the Earth's crust - but it would mean that Steve may be killed in the blast…
