'Return of the Deathprobe' (Part 2) (Story Code '47302') by Howard Dimsdale

In an effort to stop the deathprobe from running amok, Steve tries to stop it with a battering ram attached to a bulldozer. However, although the ram is made of a tough new alloy, the probe easily shrugs off the attack. A further attempt to trick the juggernaut proves successful, and Steve watches as the probe falls into a deep pit; but before the hole can be filled with acid, the probe uses its power to bore a tunnel toward the city – and with its current speed, Steve has no time left to evacuate the population…
